Mario Kart DS - Different on DS Lite compared to DS "Fatty"


When Mario Kart is started on the Nintendo DS Lite, the game makes a different start up noise compared to when it starts up on the original DS, DS "Fatty".

What other differences are there between DS games on the old DS compared to DS Lite?

Lol Nice try a different game and post that we might now or it can mean it has different noises on start-up each time you do it

Hi Kamalot, I'm Lick. I'm a homebrew DS developer. You can see my works blogged at licklick.wordpress.com.

I'm here to bring the news: all games can query if the device is a Lite or not. It's as simple as checking for a value in the hardware. I do it in my brightness_test demo.

Bottom line: we have done it in homebrew applications, so no doubt official devs can do it as well.
